This week, World Vision staff joined with donors, government leaders, organisations for persons with disabilities, and youth for the Global Disability Inclusion Forum in Malawi. Participants came together to learn how to better empower children with disabilities, especially in fragile contexts, climate action, and emergency response. They also took to the field in Malawi to deepen their understanding of education, rehabilitation, and case management to equip and support children and youth with disabilities, so they can build more inclusive practices in development work globally. We are committed to amplifying the voices of children with disabilities to empower them to achieve their full potential and participate meaningfully in their communities. 🧡

Meet Buhle, an 18-year old girl from Eswatini, whose resilience knows no bounds. After receiving interventions to help with her partial blindness from World Vision Eswatini and UNICEF, Buhle’s grades improved, her confidence soared and her dreams have grown even bigger. “I want to tap into a space where I am capable of helping other children living with disabilities with their emotional wellbeing,” she said. Meet 14-year-old, Artem. 🧡 In war-torn Ukraine, Artem, who has Down syndrome, navigates daily challenges with remarkable resilience. Fleeing the dangers of Lysychansk, he and his mother, Olga, now reside in a shelter in Dnipro, adapting to constant alarms and explosions. Amid the chaos, Artem's wish for peace embodies his and his mother's enduring hope and strength.
