Intel Strengthens EU Advocacy with New Brussels Office Leadership

Intel_EU_Policy_0-1717666353085.jpegIntel is pleased to announce the promotion of Riccardo Masucci to Head of the Brussels Office, where he will report to Hendrik Bourgeois, Vice President Government Affairs Europe. This move comes at a pivotal time as Intel expands its European presence through significant planned investments in the region.  

The new role is designed to enhance Intel’s voice and impact to achieve a competitive regulatory environment for the semiconductor sector, by coordinating the team’s EU policy advocacy efforts on industrial strategies, product regulation, business enablement, and regulatory coherence. 

Greater coordination and focus on these three pillars are crucial for the successful implementation of Intel’s European investment plans. As Riccardo put it: 

“As the company integrates further into Europe’s industrial fabric, our commitment to being a trusted partner of EU policymakers remains steadfast. We aim to foster a positive and constructive dialogue on competitiveness and innovation.”

Hendrik Bourgeois will continue to spearhead and oversee Intel’s overall government affairs efforts and priorities across Europe. With the main purpose of contributing to the EU’s goal of establishing a thriving European semiconductor ecosystem, ensuring consistency across regional strategies between the Brussels hub and operations within member states.  He stated: ”I am very much looking forward to continue working with Riccardo in his new role, and to partner with him and Intel’s Brussels government affairs team to make Intel even more impactful in the next EU legislative cycle.” 

 

 

About Riccardo Masucci 

Since joining Intel in 2015, Riccardo has played an important role in shaping the company’s privacy and security policy. During his tenure as Global Director of Privacy Policy, he advised teams across Europe, the U.S., Latin America, Africa, China, India, and Asia-Pacific on data privacy legislation. With Intel’s IDM 2.0 strategy, he took on the role of Director of Security and Technology Policy, successfully leading advocacy for the EU Chips Act.  

Riccardo’s expertise extends to cybersecurity, data, and AI policies. He has served in leadership positions within influential trade associations such as DIGITALEUROPE and the Cybersecurity Coalition. He is a member of the OECD Semiconductor Expert Network and shares his insights as a Tech Policy Visiting Scholar at Duke University.
