Philippe I de France, Duc d'Orleans dit Monsieur
[edit]Hi XIII!
I have a question about the picture Louis14-Versailles1685.jpg... Could you indicate me Philippe I de France, Duc d'Orleans dit Monsieur in the picture? Thanks a lot
Leo
P.S. If you indicate me also other characters, you'll do me a favour...
Leo
In the order : Louis le grand dauphin (blond man), Louis XIV and behind him Philippe d'Orléans
No ! Blond man : Louis le grand dauphin, the Louis XIV and the three younger men the three sons of the grand dauphin : Louis duc de Bourgogne, Philippe duc d'Anjou and Charles duc de Berry, from the tallest to the smallest. The duc d'Orléans Philippe, future Regent is probably the young man in the center of the picture.

Portrait of Charles de Bourbon
[edit]Hi! From where did you get the information that Image:CharlesdeBourbonErzbischofRouen.jpg does not show Charles de Bourbon? -- Greetz Sir Gawain 18:43, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
- This portrait represente a cardinal after 1670-1680. The cardinal is represented with a collar that does not exist in the sixteenth century. This collar is appeared only in the years 1670-1680 and by a particular circumstance, has become almost a clerical uniform in the eighteenth and nineteenth century. In addition, the painter has represented him with long hair as was fashionable in the eighteenth century.
- Even though the artist had wanted to represent the cardinal of Bourbon, it did not. This is not him, neither physically nor in clothing. An encyclopaedia should not mislead the public, or this portrait is completely misleading.--XIII 23:04, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Sourçage
[edit]Bonjour.
- --XIII (talk) 10:33, 31 July 2013 (UTC)
- Merci pour la réponse. Désolé, mais sans source, j'ai rétabli l'identification elle sourcée. J'ai nuancé la date du tableau selon vos dires, mais cela ne suffit pas à supprimer d'office l'identification du portrait. Mel22 (talk) 11:55, 1 August 2013 (UTC)
question about one of your images
[edit]Hi,
I'm wondering if you can provide any information about the image "LaRochelleSiegeMap.jpg" -- specifically, I am wondering if it is one of the hand-colored impressions of Jacques Callot's Siege of La Rochelle which once belonged to Cardinal Richelieu and is now (I believe) held in the BNF.
Many thanks for your time.
Sincerely, Thomas
