File:Afghanistan 1860.png
[edit]Thanks for creating File:Afghanistan 1860.png. It's a useful map, however the dimensions are very unbalanced, stretching very north into Siberia and too much west into Turkey. It therefore also does not bode well in Wikipedia because the large size makes the main subject look small. If you can, do please crop this image to a better version. --Weaveravel (talk) 12:25, 15 October 2021 (UTC)
(Idk if I’m logged in and it will show this at me my phone is bugging out), but Hi its me Noorullah, and yeah I will try to crop the image when I get on my PC, thanks for the suggestion. Noorullah21 User talk:Noorullah21
@Noorullah21: Since the crop hasn't been done and it has been messing with img alignments on pages, I have done the crop for it now.
- Also, currently there is nothing in the immediate area north of Afghanistan, e.g. the Emirate of Bukhara, or a representation of Qing China. They should be added too especially as they are in the immediate region. --Weaveravel (talk) 10:27, 1 November 2021 (UTC)
@Weaveravel: These changes will be added over time, the focus is just mostly centralized on Afghanistan and its bordering surroundings for now, so sure, I will add those in the future. (also i tried to crop it prior and it kinda broke the image wso thanks for fixing it for me) Noorullah21 User talk:Noorullah21
- OK thanks. I would recommend you not to delay making the changes because at the moment the map can be considered "incomplete" and not ready/valid usage, some Wikipedia users might object to it being used as it is right now. Also what software are you using for the map? --Weaveravel (talk) 17:55, 1 November 2021 (UTC)
The map is complete, its just a matter of surrounding nations, all borders are pretty accurate. I also use paint.net the application. @Weaveravel: --Noorullah21
- @Noorullah21: Good efforts, keep completing the map by including the territories to the north. Please keep the font sizes consistent too, so it passes basic quality controls. Also, Afghanistan is currently not centerized on the map (the west is more visible). Either crop some of the west end or (ideally) extend the map further east so that it's equal. --WR 14:02, 8 December 2021 (UTC)
- Got it, also would you mind possibly cropping? I have trouble often doing such and sometimes it distorts. @Weaveravel Noorullah21 (talk) 14:15, 8 December 2021 (UTC)
- I can crop easily. But didn't you say you use Paint.net? Because if I crop the exported image wouldn't it alter your project file on that software? --WR 18:13, 8 December 2021 (UTC)
- No, I can save the cropped image, and it'll be fine. @Weaveravel, if I run into any troubles, we can just revert it and find another way, but I'm basically 100% sure everything will be good. Noorullah21 (talk) 19:48, 8 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Weaveravel I think you are talking about it might being able to alter other layers, I only have 2 base layers on paint.net, the actual map, and name of countries. If you cropped the image, the map and names would be merged, but thats not a problem because I can just recolour and replace them in another layer. Noorullah21 (talk) 19:49, 8 December 2021 (UTC)
- Alright that's good. I'd happily crop it but on second thought don't you agree it would be better to extend the east instead? I think showing the Bengal area would be relevant in this case, and it would centerize Afghanistan anyway. --WR 17:00, 9 December 2021 (UTC)
- Well, I don't have the original map template anymore, and I think it is unneeded. Noorullah21 (talk) 02:33, 10 December 2021 (UTC)
- Done, cropped. --WR 01:21, 11 December 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks. @Weaveravel Noorullah21 (talk) 01:22, 11 December 2021 (UTC)

The new animated map you uploaded has inconsistent dimensions between frames. You created the video from which it is derived, so I presume you have a copy which can be converted to a proper GIF. –LaundryPizza03 (dc̄) 03:40, 30 September 2022 (UTC)
- Yeah I plan to fix it in a bit. Noorullah21 (talk) 05:08, 30 September 2022 (UTC)

Thank you for making this image, but it's less discriminatory, and people can't distinguish the color blocks well. Can you recreate this image with a more distinctive color? Thank you! Evesiesta (talk) 11:49, 24 June 2023 (UTC)
