There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful information about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

Hello, Mike V!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

hi, does the OTRS ticket meet the author and copyright description in the metadata? That was my concern when tagging the file, I however forgot to mention this on the file talk. --Martin H. (talk) 22:05, 6 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please to be checking the permissions of this file

Hi; I have undeleted the file, although I seem not to have access to the ticket in question. Will you mark it as needed? Wojciech Pędzich Talk 13:46, 13 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

All set. Thanks! Mike VTalk 17:21, 13 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

OTRS File:Arif Lohar.jpg

[edit]

Dear Mike, You have updated the OTRS info for the above file. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requesting_copyright_permission

I followed the above page. and asked in the same way its mentioned there, Can u please help me ? pointing out what is the reason this permission is not good enough? so i can fix it for this file. thanks

File:RobPic Cropped.png has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

File:PastedGraphic-5.tiff

[edit]

Back in October you uploaded File:PastedGraphic-5.tiff and added the OTRS ticket information. I just saw that the image, according to the subject's website, was a "professional shot" from the NBC interview. Are you sure Arvind Dilawar, whom you listed as the source, holds the copyright for that image? If I understand NBC's tag correctly, it's by "John Makely, NBC News", and I would be quite surprised if Makely or NBC released the image under CC-BY-SA 3.0. Huon (talk) 03:00, 23 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The release came from Arvind Dilawar, who (at least at the time) was an authorized representative of Daniel Genis. He released the photo under CC-BY-SA-3.0 on behalf of Daniel, who is the copyright holder. Mike VTalk 03:08, 23 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
What evidence was presented that Genis, and not Makely and/or NBC News, owns the copyright? Huon (talk) 14:41, 24 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The employment of Arvind Dilawar was verified. Also, the NBC article was published with the photograph on May 22, 2015 while the permission and image was received by us in October 2014. (Perhaps it's possible that NBC has misattributed the photo.) Nevertheless, I've sent out an email requesting clarification. Mike VTalk 19:57, 24 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I've heard back from Arvind. He said that since the article the image was hosted on was deleted, he doesn't have much interest in keeping the photo. He said it can be deleted rather than trying to gather the necessary documents. Mike VTalk 21:57, 24 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure where you see the May 22, 2015 date on the NBC article; to me it says, regarding the image, "Monday, June 16, 2014, in Brooklyn, NY", and the article itself is dated, "Jun 23 2014, 3:59 am ET". So the NBC article predates the image by a couple of months. I'd be reluctant to assume NBC misattributed the image. Huon (talk) 23:11, 7 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
At the time I looked at the article, it stated May 22, 2015. They have since changed the date. Mike VTalk 00:03, 8 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
For your information, I have nominated the image for deletion since I see no indication that a representative of Genis was in a position to release the image under a free license. Huon (talk) 23:14, 10 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

email

[edit]

I am sorry, that I didn't do as promised in December2015. At that time, I blocked indefinitely. My plan was to appeal after six months.

I was shocked that I was banned due to a proposal made by a sock IP. I didn't know what to do. I don't know whether banned users are ever welcome again.

Whether I can get access to my talk page and email in English Wikipedia; I want you to know that, I will always login with my Avengers account. I know Check Users can also see login IP details. I won't become stale.

After this Greek Legend fiasco, I don't think there is any way for me to come back again in clandestine manner. There are users who are doing research on my edits.

I want to make unblock request in December 2016. I hope I will get my email access and talk page access back in English Wikipedia at that time. Till then I won't do any other block evasion. I will continue editing wikimedia commons by uploading Free Flickr pictures.

Due to uncertainty I ended up creating Greek Legend and few other accounts. At first I couldn't decide which accounts to choose and ended up creating few accounts, but later on I continued only with Greek Legend account.

I created "The Avengers" account on 18th September 2015. Because, I read a message by SilkTork that he will nominate Mar4d as administrator. Mar4d was a good content creator. But he had used alternate sock accounts in AFDs. Now, I was the only one who knew that Mar4d has a sock account Lyk4. The way sockpuppet Wifione became administrator, only because I started the ANI thread which exposed that Mar4d is a sockpuppet of Acejet, or there would have been another case of a sockpuppet becoming administrator.

Sock Ip range

[edit]

I am pretty sure they are the same user.

Now you are the one who blocked this range. If you would have done that before this WP:AN post against me.
