- As Special:Upload says, you must indicate the source and copyright status when you upload a picture. If you do not provide this information, the pictures you have uploaded will quickly be deleted. Also, please do not overwrite one picture with a smaller version. I have reverted you where you did that. dbenbenn | talk 02:26, 19 October 2005 (UTC)
- I've blocked you for 2 hours for vandalising Image:SepoyMutiny.jpg. When you are uploading a picture, if you get a message warning you that "A file with this name exists already", you have to check whether you really want to overwrite it. dbenbenn | talk 14:44, 25 October 2005 (UTC)
- Also, do not falsely tag pictures as {{GPL}}, as you did at Image:Sepoy Mutiny Execution.jpg, and do not upload "fair use" pictures (Image:Clive.jpg). dbenbenn | talk 14:52, 25 October 2005 (UTC)

You uploaded a smaller version of Image:Sepoy Mutiny Execution.jpg after your block expired, so I've blocked you for a day. Stop it. dbenbenn | talk 21:03, 25 October 2005 (UTC)
- You uploaded Image:Maghandi.jpg, and tagged it as {{GFDL}}, even though the original at w:Image:Maghandi.jpg was tagged as {{No source}}. Don't lie about the copyright status of images. I've blocked you for 2 days. dbenbenn | talk 22:20, 8 November 2005 (UTC)
Hello Jose montalvo, a question about an image you have uploaded: is there a reason why you loaded up a smaller version of Image:Sanchi2.jpg and overwrote the previous bigger version? --Tsui 17:47, 17 October 2005 (UTC)
Thumbnails
[edit]Please don't upload thumbnails of images. When you copy a picture from the English Wikipedia, copy the full size version. Also, merely saying "Fuente: Wikipedia en inglés" isn't good enough: you need to copy all information given with the image at EN. Finally, when you put an image here, you need to add it to an appropriate category or gallery page. User:dbenbenn 22:12, 18 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit]This photo from the United Nations can not be used for commercial purposes. Since all photos on WikiCommons must be allowed to be used by anybody for any purpose, it has been deleted. Thuresson 16:00, 24 November 2005 (UTC)
- Since you uploaded this photo again after the message you left on my talk page, it is clear that you have no regard for the rules concerning image uploads. I see no other resort than to have you blocked for two weeks and to keep you on a watch list. Thuresson 19:07, 24 November 2005 (UTC)

File:South african native national congress.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |

Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Jose montalvo. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Jose montalvo~commonswiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
Community Liaison, Wikimedia Foundation
