Flags of Uruguayan's departments

[edit]

Hello Jordevi,
I'm a french wikipedian who improve the articles about Uruguay and I have seen your Coats of arms and flags. The articles about Uruguay (in french) aren't finished but I need the flags of Uruguayan's departments to put in the department's articles.
So, thanks for your very good work, I don't know draw...^^
I wait your images... Best regards from France. --Dav 59 13:02, 16 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your answer, I write that some departments haven't got flags, I change my tables tomorrow (it's 11h PM in France ^^) and I wait your Florida's flag. Best regards from France and thank you very much for your work.--Dav 59 21:13, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, The wikidrawers don't answer but I think you can download "Corel SVG Viewer" (it's free) to transform your images from *.png* to *.svg*. If they'll answer, I'll allow a message on this page or on your spannish userpage. Bye, --Dav 59 19:13, 18 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Saludos. Robotico 03:32, 25 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: SVG question

[edit]

Sure, go ahead making those maps, my files are under a free license, aren't they ;-). Strange that you seem to have problems using Inkscape, as I've created those maps using it; maybe there's something wrong with your installation of it? I'm unfortunately not very familiar with CorelDraw, so I don't know if there's a plugin.

Depending on where you are going to use the images for, might it not be easier to use or similar and superimpose it on the map? For example, Bella Unión (changed to Montevideo and different map NielsF|talk/overleg/discussion/discussione 22:21, 23 November 2006 (UTC)):[reply]

A blank map without any dots and numbers, showing just the borders of the departments, is easy to make. Hope this helps. NielsF|talk/overleg/discussion/discussione 19:40, 21 November 2006 (UTC) Thanks for your tip! Now I'd like to know if you'd be able to make 19 new blank maps, one for each department (not having dots for capital cities), for me or anybody else to place the dots to show the location of the different cities. And also, do you know how can I apply transparency to an image (the dot I'm using), so I don't have that white "frame" all around it? Jordevi 21:47, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, creating those maps will be easy. I'll do them tomorrow, if you want, but wouldn't it be better to make one blank image for the whole of Uruguay, that's the way it's usually done on most wikis? The reason that I made them with the departmental capitals on them was because at the time I wasn't aware of the option I demonstrated above. The problem, though, is that using the superimpose option excludes use outside of infoboxes, like es:Plantilla:Infobox Ciudad Uruguay, because otherwise it leaves a large whitespace as shown above. As to your question on the transparency, I'm not sure I get it. Do you refer to the whitespace to the right? It's quite easy to make a transparent image, for all SVG's are per definition transparent. Maybe, if you use a PNG image, it's not transparent, but I'd have to see an example of what you want to do. Maybe you could create a sample page, here or on es: to demonstrate what you exactly want, so we can work it out as easily as possible? Saludos cordiales, NielsF|talk/overleg/discussion/discussione 23:47, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm don't see the problem with the transparency, maybe it was temporary update: I see it with Internet Explorer 6, not with Firefox or Opera. It would be better to use Image:Blue pog.svg however, since the other one is up for deletion. I've uploaded a blank map for now, because before I can make the other ones I have to fix quite a few articles on nl.wikipedia (now they all have a caption like "The department (red) and its capital (black dot) shown on a map of Uruguay" (e.g. nl:Durazno (departement)), and I currently don't have the time (maybe after the weekend). Met vriendelijke groet (=Saludos cordiales), NielsF|talk/overleg/discussion/discussione 22:21, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't see a reaction from your side, so I automatically assumed everything was alright now, with the blank map and the other "blue pog"-image (lazy and busy isn't a good combination ;-) ). If you still feel you can't do without the versions with the department highlighted, I'll create them. Will be something for tomorrow evening or maybe the day after tomorrow. I'll let you know when they are ready. NielsF|talk/overleg/discussion/discussione 00:40, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:04 - Udelar - isologotipo versión preferencial - positiva - rgb web.svg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.
