Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Template:Bus-Information/jaについて

失礼します。こんばんは。先日編集されていたTemplate:Bus-Information/jaにつきまして、{{ISOdate}}を省略したため日付の言語別変換がされなくなっていた部分（2010-09-07で、日本語設定だと「2010年9月7日」と表示されるはずが「2010-09-07」とそのまま表示される）の修正を加えましたが[1]、「出典」の出典明記が無い場合の警告、「作者」の作者明記が無い場合の警告、「利用許可」の(ウィキメディア外での利用)リンクと、利用許可をテンプレ外に記載した際に表示されるはずの 下記を参照してください が無いのはまずいのではないかと思い、大半を戻しました[2]。私やJKTさんは英語テンプレも併記しているのでそちらで問題ないのかなとは思いますが、jaテンプレのみを使用している方もいらっしゃるための措置です。ほかにJKTさんが修正された所属事業所→事業所と撮影場所→場所はそのままにしております。ご理解いただきますようお願い致します。--221.20 (talk) 14:33, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
