I'm deleting all the pictures
[edit]I've noticed that they are used in PT Wikipedia, where you can use few pictures as Fair use, which is not allowed in Commons.

Hey there
[edit]Don't worry, I won't upload any pictures anymore. I give up. I was just trying to became my articles rich and full of great photos. I'm sorry, I don't know much about "PT Wikipedia", "where I can use few pictures as Fair use, which is not allowed in Commons". The photos I've been uploaded are from my personal collection, I don't know anything about the authors or copyright rights. Feel free to delete all my pictures. I'm sorry.
I'm almost giving up writing on PT Wikipedia too, because there is too much vandalism on my articles or other articles. Are you able to block the editing page for any users? Can you creat a kind of restrict access that allows only me and/or a few persons to edit my articles about "Kurt Cobain", "Krist Novoselic" and "Nirvana (band)" (the portuguese versions, I mean)? I was the author of those and other articles, and I can say they're the best versions and they're absolutely great and serious. I spent a great time writing and I had a lot of hard word. I'm continuing working on the article about Kurt, it's not finished yet. Thank you and goodbye.--EXcer 17:02, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
- When I wrote PT Wikipedia, I meant Wikipedia in português where you can read about Fair use policy in pt:Fair use or pt:Wikipedia:Posição das wikipédias em relação ao fair use. I've noticed that you've uploaded the pictures so you can use them in pt:Kurt Cobain and such. You can upload one or two images directly to the Wikipedia, where you should also write where you have found those pictures ("my collection" is not a valid source) and tag them in one of the proper tags.
- As for the articles - The Wikipedia's guideline is you don't own the copyrights on the text. Anyone can edit it as it's written below - "O texto desta página está sob a GNU Free Documentation License" therefore anyone can write texts, as long as they don't write vandalism.
- If you don't want people to edit the articles while you're editing it, there should be some way to inform the users that you're editing the text. in the English Wikipedia, it's done by en:Template:Inuse.
- Please read the pt:Ajuda:Página principal and keep up the good work.

- OK, thank you very much, I'll try to keep up the good work. Thanks for the informations.--EXcer 19:24, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
- Hey, how can I put into the article pt:Nirvana (banda) the main photo that are in the English article (en:Nirvana (band))? Is this possible? I tried to put the En image's address into the Pt article but it doesn't work. Thanks again.--EXcer 19:34, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
- Save the image to your HDD, upload it to the Wikipedia, and write the details as it's written in the English Wikipedia, and add the en:Image:Inuteropromo.jpg as source - [[:en:Image:Inuteropromo.jpg]].
- Since I don't know português (I'm using Google as translator) I can't guide you how to upload images to that Wikipedia.
- Best regards, Yuval Y § Chat § 19:58, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, but I can't find the same License when uploading at http://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Upload&uselang=pt
- Is this the correct address?--EXcer 20:10, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
- Nope... The correct address is somewhere in the Wikipedia, where I couldn't find it... Yuval Y § Chat § 20:32, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks again... I'll search for it and I'll see what I can do. Goodbye!--EXcer 20:35, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called EXcer. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name EXcer~commonswiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
