Turtle
[edit]Hi, I saw your turtle picture at FPC. Could you please tell me how you managed to get the white background? Regards,Muhammad Mahdi Karim 18:08, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
- I had the turtle walking over a white piece of paper when I took the picture (it was surprisingly fast for a turtle). I then used the levels tool in Photoshop to brighten the paper and erased all traces of the concrete. I can upload the original photo if you want. This is a nice article where I learned it from (Commons:How to take pictures for Wikimedia Commons). Hope this helps. --Digon3 talk 18:16, 22 May 2008 (UTC
- Thanks for the help :) Muhammad Mahdi Karim 18:37, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
- I am curious about the accepting the improvements from one commons user and not from another. When that happened with that rock of crystals, the template that I applied to that image page was not removed making it look like the not improved version was my work and the media here spammed me with child pornography victims -- those who could talk about it and also, those who were involved via a church who could not talk about it. The abuse of the TIVO and the other things here is a separate thing -- worth mentioning because of the abuse I am needing to be tolerant of. The accepting the changes and an upload of a new image from one and not from another is completely yours to explain. -- carol 01:48, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- I didn't quite get what you meant. There was no accepting the changes and an upload of a new image. I was just telling Muhammad Mahdi Karim how I edited my picture. --Digon3 talk 13:41, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- I got scolded when I improved an image of yours; others are thanked. My message had nothing to do with Mahdi Karim, and more to do with edited images. Perhaps you could publish a list of people who are allowed to edit your images and upload over them and those who are not. Also, I did not appreciate that you reverted my edit of an image of yours and did not remove the template so it looked as if I had made the image look like the crap it was reverted back to. -- carol 13:50, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- I spent some time with some of the edits and then went back to the original and I cannot say that my version is an improvement. I attempted to keep the paper texture. The thumbnail of my version does not look as good as the 100% view. Also, in the case you were wondering, 200% view was sufficient to clone out some of the stuff that was on the paper. It was easier to work on than similar images I have taken. The turtles probably permanent scowl kind of grew on me as well. I don't know if I want to know what that hair was that is sticking out from the front area either. My intention was to submit it for QI, but all that I said about improvement prevents me. Is this your pet? -- carol (tomes) 03:49, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

Native copper image
[edit]Your image File:Native Copper Macro Digon3.jpg fits very nicely into the copper article, but its beauty is crippled by the excessive margins. Could you please crop them (to the minimum). Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 00:26, 11 June 2009 (UTC) (On the contrary, I do not read my commons box, please talk at WP if necessary)
Transcluded user templates with embedded license templates
[edit]Hi Digon3, There is an open issue with your user templates and Commons policy. I've drafted a post, User:Slaunger/Sandbox/COM:AN message, which I am about to publish on COM:AN. Since your user name is mentioned explicitly, I think you should have the possibility to see it and possibly correct factual mistakes. --Slaunger (talk) 19:16, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Do you think you could take a look at User:Digon3/StandardLicense and add either "|migration=relicense" or "|migration=opt-out" to it? This is for the licensing update. Thanks, NuclearWarfare (talk) 05:15, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
