Wikimedia Commons has a specific scope
[edit]
--Motopark (talk) 11:09, 18 November 2015 (UTC)
Hi Motopark, thank you for your advice. I saw that you added a comment for deleting my userpage. But as a new GLAM Institution I have to add some informations about the scope of our institution "Archives cantonales jurassiennes", because we are uploading more than 3000 images from a local photograph. You can have more informations by going to this page (Category:Images by Eugène Cattin). page. If it still does not enter Wikimedia scope, please telle me what I need to do to rectify. --ArCJ
Copyright status: File:Hotel des Halles.jpg
[edit]This media may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading File:Hotel des Halles.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.
If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.) If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there. Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you. |

Wikimedia Commons has a specific topic
[edit]Motopark (talk) 12:29, 2 February 2016 (UTC)
- Please let me apologize for the silly welcome you got by some Commons users. Messages like the one above by User:Motopark are a disgrace to the community. So: Welcome to the Commons! We need many more GLAM institutions and image donations here (and fewer idiots like the one who posted above, to be frank). --WolfD59 (talk) 12:49, 25 February 2016 (UTC)
- Dear Wolf, thanks for your welcoming message. And thanks a lot for your contributions. Please continue to improve the metadata and the categories. As a GLAM we are quite new to Wikimedia. If you may know Swiss french speaking wikimedian, please encourage them to contribute on our collection. It could be of great help for us. --ArCJ (talk) 14:33, 25 February 2016 (UTC)
File:ArCJ SAC 19760412 Séance inaugurale du 12 avril 1976.ogg has the template {{Images by Eugène Cattin|SAC_19760412}}. While it is necessary for the license right now (deleting it would rmeove the license), you should rather create a separate template for your contributions that are not really images by Cattin. Because of the, the séance recording is now part of the Category:Images by Eugène Cattin --WolfD59 (talk) 14:09, 25 February 2016 (UTC)
Bonjour et bienvenue
[edit]Bonjour ! Hésitez pas à me contacter. Je peux toujours vous renvoyer plus loin. --BV AmandineC (talk) 08:39, 26 February 2016 (UTC)
- Bonjour Amandine! --ArCJ (talk) 19:10, 26 February 2016 (UTC)

Expiry of GWToolset user group memberships
[edit]There is a proposal on the Bureaucrat's noticeboard to automatically expire GWT memberships after one year unless the user requests an extension. Please add your views and suggestions to the discussion. The reasonably informal process for getting access to GWT access will remain as is.

File tagging File:Archives cantonales jurassiennes.tif
[edit]This media was probably deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading File:Archives cantonales jurassiennes.tif. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT ([email protected]). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Archives cantonales jurassiennes.tif]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |
