Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Hello,

Is uploading game screenshots not allowed? As I've seen you deleted already a screenshot for "Game screenshot". I can't seem to find anything relating to video game screen captures / shots. They were taken by me for that article (as I've seen other articles feature same sort of screenshots), as I can provide more info about that. The author of the game didn't transfer the right of licensing to you. Therefore they will be deleted. One can upoad small images under "fair use" locally to Wikipedia. Here on Commons fair use media are not allowed. --Achim55 (talk) 10:19, 12 August 2024 (UTC)

Alright then. What about the cover box? Other articles have it, how did they declare the right to use the cover art? Or other types such as game logos e.t.c 761edxwrd (talk) 10:23, 12 August 2024 (UTC)

That depends on the threshold of originality. Text-only covers or simple logos are no problem. Others can also be uploaded per fair use to enwiki. --Achim55 (talk) 10:33, 12 August 2024 (UTC)

So what I'm understanding is that I can upload a small-size images about other works (as long as it's not directly stated that it's not allowed for redistribution) directly to wikipedia under "fair-use" but I'm not allowed to upload anything that isn't my creation into Commons? 761edxwrd (talk) 15:05, 12 August 2024 (UTC)

You can upload media to Commons that are not your own work if a) there is a verifyable free license or b) the copyright has expired, see COM:L. --Achim55 (talk) 16:52, 12 August 2024 (UTC)

Right, but on Wikipedia I'm able to upload images under "fair use". I'm saying this since I was wondering if the images I uploaded wouldn't they still be "fair use"? Since I uploaded them straight to Wikipedia, not Commons. 761edxwrd (talk) 11:09, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
