Hola!

Autopatrol given

[edit]

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you. rubin16 (talk) 05:34, 11 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The image is not owned by the Shaw Prize. It’s just a still they used from a public domain video. It’s a prize, they didn’t take that photo when it was awarded as simple proof (it was awarded recently, the image is from the 90s though I can’t find out from when) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zagreus99 (talk • contribs) 12:20, 4 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Zagreus99: Per the precautionary principle, you must provide enough evidence to ensure that video is in the public domain. That CC0 tag is blatantly wrong anyway. Feel free to contest the nomination and open a regular deletion request instead if it requires further discussion. -sasha- (talk) 12:26, 4 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Chile

Hi. The Sao Paulo Forum hasn't confirmed that Boric is part of it. Can I have evidence that Boric is part of the Sao Paulo forum? MrKDunleavy (talk) 10:24, 12 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@MrKDunleavy: Some of the most important parties in the coalition Boric belongs to (Communist Party, Comunes...) are members of the forum and most of his ministers are from these parties. -sasha- (talk) 10:34, 12 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I forgot how to make a separate "prompt", so I'll just reply here it's regarding this file: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Носии_од_с._Вевчани,_Струшки_Дримкол.png in the permissions section it says that there's an email viewable by vrts users, and that I should contact you or someone else with such an account the hell do I do now?? I don't even know what's going on with the blue thing in the permission section of the file Sincerely, Big ooga booga mf (talk) 00:23, 24 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Big ooga booga mf: I'm not the person attending the ticket. I've seen you received a reply a couple days ago, so please check your email and respond. VRT is meant to process those emails in which copyright holders give permissions for their files to be placed in Commons under a free license. This also means you also have to provide proof you're the copyright holder (the photographer 99.9% of the time) if there's significant doubt. If the photo isn't yours, it should be deleted. -sasha- (talk) 09:34, 24 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
To put it simply: Wikimedia Commons hosts freely licensed media files. This allows anyone to reuse them under almost no restrictions. Most of the photos you find on the Internet aren't freely licensed and mustn't be uploaded to Commons. Don't upload anything that you haven't photographed yourself unless you're completely sure it's allowed. If in doubt, ask an experienced user, you may find a few here. -sasha- (talk) 09:40, 24 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Please assist with the VRT status File:James J. Sexton(1).png. Ticket#2023120510000308 -> URL of this file was in the email and copyright holder email permission was in the proper format.
