A regular reviewer and nominator at Featured picture candidates. I am an intermittent photographer at best but I think I have a strong understanding of composition and many of the technical aspects of photography. I have successfully nominated more than 300 Featured photographs on Wikimedia Commons and I enjoy trying to find good quality photographs of subjects that interest me and ensuring that their quality goes recognised, whether from regular contributors to FPC or from photographers who never participate in that project at all. I like lots of genres of photography - landscape, architecture, portrait, wildlife/macro, astrophotography. However, I only nominate photographs from contributors with a Commons account, so no Flickr photographs or NASA images. The FP galleries are a really useful tool for finding high-quality illustrations of a huge variety of subjects, and making them even more diverse and comprehensive is a valuable task. My historical success rate at FPC is greater than 80%, among the highest success rates for regular nominators.
If you have a picture you think might be worth nominating at FPC but you aren't sure about it, feel free to leave a comment on my talk page and I will provide honest feedback about its chances of success in this process.
