English: Louis "David" Riel (October 22, 1844 – November 16, 1885), was a Canadian politician and leader of the Métis people of the Canadian prairies.
Français : Louis Riel mena le gouvernement provisoire Métis qui négocia avec le gouvernement canadien la création de la province du Manitoba. Après une rébellion contre le Canada en 1885, il fut pendu pour trahison. Il naît le 22 octobre 1844 à Saint-Boniface, en Terre de Rupert, un territoire situé dans le Nord-Ouest canadien.
