The modified S does not correspond to the $ image in SG catalogue, SG13a (2 clear bars). Please provide source authentification.

If you are going to change the date of the category then you need to rename the image and change all the details too, and prove the source image is incorrect. Do you have another online source? I've update the Sandafayre source and reverted the category for now. Ww2censor (talk) 16:09, 23 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
For the large Stanley Gibbons catalogue (1840-1970), the $ error appears in the 1870-1883 issue, 1 sh SG13 more exactly issued on 23-2-1873 (CC wmrk), also in 1897 (CA). The problem is that the $ error as represented page 342 looks really like a $ (with 2 oblique bars). It would not be an issue if that image was not so prominently illustrating the postal history of Jamaica, and the 1870 events! I just want double confirmation. The Michel catalogue also dates the 1 Sh braun on 23.2.1873. Regards.

According to this auction listing the variety was issued in 1897. The Scott catalog I have does not list the variety, just the two issue dates for the 1 shilling stamp in 1870 and 1873, so we really need access to a specialised catalogue. Ww2censor (talk) 09:54, 25 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Indeeed! But I found this image which really shows a $: http://www.brandonstamps.com/sg13a-1873-dull-brown-shilling-superb-used-p-5874.html
