Deutsch: Bodenerosion auf einem Wintergerstenfeld, Kanton Bern, Schweiz
Wintergerste ist im Vergleich zu Winterweizen erheblich weniger erosionsanfällig. Der frühere Saattermin erlaubt ein ausreichendes Wachstum der Kultur bis zum Einsetzen der lang anhaltenden Herbstniederschläge. Erosion tritt dann meist nur noch in den ungeschützten Fahrspuren auf. Weiterhin folgt Wintergerste häufig nach Winterweizen, welcher durch das verbleibende Stroh verschiedene Möglichkeiten konservierender Bodenbearbeitungsverfahren bietet.
