English: Wall on Vulcan Street. This wall just scrapes in NZ4921, the beginning and end being in adjacent squares. It was built in 1887 along the perimeter of the Cleveland Salt Company Works which operated from 1887 to 1947 producing almost 880,000 tons of brine by evaporating brine pumped from the salt beds which underlie the Tees estuary. |
