Italiano: Comparto Concordia area ex-Falck
Torre piezometrica La Torre piezometrica Concordia fu costruita a metà del XX secolo, con la funzione di serbatoio pensile per l’utilizzo dell’acqua di falda nello stabilimento della Falck Concordia. Una torre piezometrica era presente in ognuno dei quattro stabilimenti delle aree ex Falck. I complessi produttivi erano infatti progettati per essere completamente autonomi per quanto riguarda l’enorme quantità d’acqua necessaria alle diverse fasi di lavorazione dell’acciaio. Una tra le cause primarie dell’insediamento di Falck e di altre industrie siderurgiche a Sesto San Giovanni fu proprio la grande disponibilità d’acqua per gli impianti siderurgici. L'insegna delle Falck è ancora leggibile sul serbatoio. Oggi la torre si trova in un'area dismessa, ma è molto ben visibile da viale Italia e costituisce un caposaldo visivo nel panorama cittadino. E' un edificio tutelato dal PGT del Comune di Sesto San Giovanni come bene storico documentale e rientra nel progetto di candidatura di Sesto per l'UNESCO nella lista del paesaggio culturale evolutivo.English: The Concordia water tower - former Falck Concordia area
The Concordia water tower was built in the mid 20th century, to serve as an elevated tank using groundwater. There is a water tower in all of the four plants on the former Falck industrial areas, and they testify to these plants’ total self-sufficiency for the huge supplies of water needed in the various phases of the steelmaking process. One of the main reasons for the establishment of Falck (and other metalworking industries) in Sesto San Giovanni was the great need for and availability of water for the steelmaking plants. The circular tank, with its cone-shaped cover, is supported by multiple supports rising up from the octagonal base. The eight pillars are strengthened by three rings of reinforced concrete, the last serving as a walkway, and windbraced by a square mesh lattice. Other structural elements include a metal ladder and four piezometric tubes, rising to the level of the tank. The Signage “Acciaierie e Ferriere Lombarde Falck” is still visible on the tower. The tower is nowadays placed in a brownfield area. It is part of the project of Sesto San Giovanni per l'UNESCO, as one of the buildings of the application for inscription on the world heritage list for humanity in the evolving cultural landscape category.
