Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Osun River, a vital watercourse in Nigeria's Yoruba region, has suffered severe pollution due to mining activities in surrounding villages. Historically, the river's crystal-clear waters supported agriculture, provided drinking as well as healing water, and sustained local ecosystems. However, ongoing mining operations have contaminated the river, altering its color into a murky brown and yellow hue and threatening the livelihoods of dependent communities.
