The Romney captures La Sybille 17 June 1794
Description
English: The Romney captures La Sybille 17 June 1794

Pasted to the back of watercolour by Pocock?.
Shows the moment that the Romney’s first lieutenant, William Henry Brisbane, was sent to take possession of the Sibylle... Captain Paget died just three months after the action off Minorca when his wounds from this battle re-opened, although it's unclear whether these fatal injuries had been incurred in the action with the Sibylle or were those inflicted by a would-be assassin’s knife in Constantinople a decade earlier. He was interred with military honours at Gibraltar.
