Description

Rond 1460 voltooide kapel van Christian I. Dit gotische pantheon wordt gestut door een granieten zuil waarop 24 vorsten uit diverse landen hun lengte hebben laten aantekenen. De langste was tsaar Peter (208,4 cm), de kleinste Christian VII (164,1 cm). De graven zijn die van Christian III en Frederik II, beiden vergezeld van hun echtgenote Dorothea respectievelijk Sophie.

Het monument voor Frederik en Sophie is van de Vlaamse kunstenaar Gert van Egen, die het meesterwerk van zijn landgenoot Floris vrijwel heeft gekopieerd (de heldendaden van de koning zijn in reliefs vereeuwigd).
