Nederlands: Op Coming Out Day wapperen niet alleen de vlaggen van Almelo, Overijssel en Nederland, ook de Regenboogvlag werd gehesen voor het stadhuis. Hiermee maakt Almelo een statement: Iedereen, ongeacht seksuele geaardheid, moet het leven kunnen delen met wie hij of zij dat wil.
"Het gaat hierbij vooral om belang aan te geven dat we als gemeente zorgen voor veiligheid en sociale acceptatie van de LHBT-groep hier in Almelo", aldus wethouder van welzijn Eugène van Mierlo. |
