Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Red-tailed Minla, a small bird from the Leiothrichidae family, features a compact and plump body, measuring about 16 to 18 centimeters in length. This species displays sexual dimorphism, with subtle differences in appearance between males and females.

Its vibrant plumage is a stunning blend of blue, black, and red. The crown and nape are deep blue, while the cheeks and throat are a bright orange-red. The upperparts, including the back and wings, are dark slate blue, contrasting beautifully with the lighter blue tones on its underparts.

This bird was photographed at Lepcha Jagat Village in West Bengal, India
