Deutsch: Das Antarktis-Gewächshaus EDEN-ISS hat bei seinem Praxistest unter Leitung des Deutschen Zentrums für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR) die Polarnacht überstanden, ebenso wie antarktische Stürme und Temperaturen bis unter minus 40 Grad Celsius. Seit Anfang 2018 liefert es erstmals Kräuter, Salate und frisch geerntetes Gemüse für die zehnköpfige Überwinterungscrew auf der Neumayer-Station III des Alfred-Wegener-Instituts (AWI). Nach mehr als einem halben Jahr Einsatz in der Antarktis zeigt sich die Leistungsfähigkeit des autarken Gewächshauskonzepts für klimatisch anspruchsvolle Regionen auf der Erde, ebenso wie für künftige bemannte Missionen zu Mond und Mars. DLR-Forscher Paul Zabel meistert dabei Herausforderungen und sammelt Erkenntnisse, die die Pflanzenzucht unter solch harschen Bedingungen mit sich bringt. Die Überwinterungsmannschaft schätzt das frische Grün als willkommene Abwechslung in der Langzeit-Isolation. In einer Live-Schaltung aus der Antarktis berichtet Paul Zabel am 13.
