Les navires émettaient sur la longueur d'onde de 300 mètres (1000 kHz) et écoutaient sur la longueur d'onde 600 mètres 500 kHz. Les stations côtières normalement émettaient sur la longueur d'onde 600 mètres (500 kHz) et écoutaient sur la longueur d'onde de 300 mètres (1000 kHz). Les navires et les stations côtières avaient les possibilités d’émettre et de recevoir sur la même longueur d’onde; exemples un navire contactant un autre navire sur la longueur d'onde 600 mètres.

Die Schiffe sendeten auf der Wellenlänge von 300 Metern (1000 kHz) und hörten auf der Wellenlänge von 600 Metern 500 kHz. Küstenstationen senden normalerweise auf 600 Metern (500 kHz) und hören auf 300 Metern (1000 kHz). Schiffe und Landstationen hatten die Möglichkeit, auf der gleichen Wellenlänge zu senden und zu empfangen, z.B. ein Schiff, das ein anderes Schiff auf der 600-Meter-Wellenlänge kontaktiert.
