Küstenstationen senden normalerweise auf 600 Metern (500 kHz) und hören auf 300 Metern (1000 kHz). Schiffe und Landstationen hatten die Möglichkeit, auf der gleichen Wellenlänge zu senden und zu empfangen, z.B. ein Schiff, das ein anderes Schiff auf der 600-Meter-Wellenlänge kontaktiert.
