Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Pench Tiger Reserve lies in the southern lower reaches of the Satpura range of hills between the borders of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra states of India. Pench is home to a variety of wild life and more famously for the Tiger. Ecologically, Pench is categorized as a tropical moist deciduos (TMD) tiger habitat. The popular fictional works of Rudyard Kipling, ‘The Jungle Book’ and ‘The Second Jungle Book’ also have their stories set around this region. This photo of Panthera tigris, which is one of the most charismatic species of the world, is shot when the tiger wandered on the road in the reserve. The reserve is an excellent example of India’s success in Tiger Conservation.
