Description
Français : Toujours face à l'école nationale de cavalerie, ce Panhard EBR dont la décoration laisse penser qu'il aurait participé à la Bataille de Saumur, en juin 40.

2 500 combattants français, dont 850 cadets de la ville, tinrent tête à 40 000 soldats allemands durant 3 jours, sur les bords de Loire.

Souci : si des protos du modèle ont bien été testés vers 1938-39 en donnant satisfaction, augurant une mise en production rapide, bienvenue dans le contexte tendu de l'époque, l'invasion allemande mis un terme net aux programmes militaires en cours.

Si bien que les 1er exemplaires de la version définitive, ne furent livrés aux forces françaises qu'à partir de 1951...
