Summary

[edit]
Description
English:
~'Forward to the Past' by Mihajlo Kolodko/Mihály Kolodko (2023 bronze statue/tte/; circa 8-10 cm high). The title of the work is a pun (Ukrainian-Hungarian humor by the sculptor), referring to the film trilogy Back to the Future. The film's iconic car is a DeLorean time machine, which also acts as a time machine, using it to travel the characters into the future and past. For this creation, this car is (fictional version of) a Trabant, which used to be the people's car of the Eastern European (Socialist) Countries. The door of the Trabant statue can be opened and its wheels folded down, similar to the car in the movie. What is even more striking is the HU country sign on the back of the Trabant. - Baross Square, Kerepesdűlő neighborhood, Józsefváros district, Budapest.
