The Ministry of Environment and Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism have newly designated ten Eco Tourism sites, and plan to develop a variety of eco-programs and turn them into green tour products. 1. Upo Marsh: A wetland located in Changnyeong-gun, South Gyeongsang Province, has remained well-preserved since its formation nearly 140 million years ago. About 1,500 species make their habitats here. 2. Geomunoreum: Designated as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage and Biosphere Reserve, this volcanic mountain is located on Jeju Island. 3. Cheonsuman Bay: Located in Seosan City, South Chungcheong Province, over 4 million birds visit this place every year on their way north or south. It's the largest migratory bird sanctuary in Northeast Asia. |
