English: This is a view of 108 Shiva temples, also known as Nava Kailash temple located in Kalna, West Bengal, India. The 108 temples are arranged in two concentric circles. This photograph captures a section of temples from the inner circle and the courtyard.
The photograph was taken in the evening using long exposure. An orange streak of light compliments the evening bluish tone. A priest was moving from temple to temple and lighting candles in each using a candle fire that he was holding in his hand. The long exposure duration captured the movement of the candle fire that the priest was holding and rendered the same as a light streak which seems to join a bunch of temples. The priest was moving from left side of the frame to the right. The temples on the left hand side of the frame are all lit up, while some on the right hand side are yet to be lit, when the exposure ends. The camera was placed on the circular corridor joining the temples, resulting in this perspective. No tripod was used as the usage of tripods in ASI monuments is not permitted.
