Mais gilt aufgrund der langen Zeitdauer mit unzureichender Bodenbedeckung zwischen Saat und ausreichender Bodenbedeckung als erosionsanfällige Kultur. Konservierende Bodenbearbeitungsverfahren wie Mulch-, Streifenfräs- oder Direktsaat werden im Untersuchungsgebiet sehr häufig eingesetzt, um das Erosionsrisiko zu vermindern.
