Description
Deutsch: Bahnhofplatz Mainz. Die Postkarte, datiert auf den 25. Juni 1919, stellt ein Foto dar, das offensichtlich vor dem 1. Weltkrieg entstanden ist. Der rückseitige Text, wohl von einem französischen Besatzungssoldaten an seine Schwägerin geschrieben, lässt einen tragischen Kriegshintergrund vermuten.
English: "Bahnhofplatz Mainz". The postcard, dated July 25, 1919, shows a photograph that was obviously taken before WW I. In its text, probably written by a French occcupation soldier to his sister-in-law, one can read between the lines about a tragic war background.
