Description
English: The impact of a laser pulse on a microdrop of opaque liquid can induce a spectacular response: In the given example a plasma is created in the liquid phase and the drop is propelled forward rapidly, strongly deforms until it breaks up. The image sequence depicts five points in time of this process taken stroboscopically by a colour camera and a pulsed backlight illumination.
