Kantor Residen Djambi dibangun oleh Kolonial Belanda (1928) Sekarang Kantor Satuan Brimob Polda Jambi Pada tanggal 3 September 1945, Dr. Syagaf Yahya diangkat sebagai Residen Djambi oleh Pemerintah Republik Indonesia melalui Komite Nasional Indonesia (KNI) sebagai pelopor Gerakan Republik Indonesia Merdeka. Namun, kepemimpinannya tidak berlangsung lama, karena harus memimpin rumah sakit yang kebutuhannya sangat mendesak. Kemudian diganti oleh Raden Inu Kertapati sebagaimana kehendak masyarakat Jambi saat itu, salah satu pertimbangannya Ia adalah putera Sultan Thaha Saifuddin. --- Badan Kongres Rakyat Djambi Dokumen-dokumen terkait kegiatan Kongres Rakyat Djambi.
