Notice: this image does not actually represent either the script of the "Nestor's Cup" or any other known form of archaic Greek:
- The word "καλλίστῃ" does not actually occur on the N.C. (the word this was partly copied from is "καλλιστεφάνου")
- The alphabet of Pithecusae would not have used Η as a vowel sign
- Archaic Greek would not have left out the final Ι, as the sound in question was still a true diphthong; it would have been spelled either "ΕΙ" or "ΗΙ" depending on whether the local alphabet had vocalic Η.
