Description

This photo is in an album my spouse's uncle Elstner Hilton compiled when he lived in Japan between 1914 and 1918.

As is evident from these photos of Hong Kong, Uncle Elstner traveled to other parts of Asia while he was stationed in Japan.

I assume Flower Street, in the center here, was a flower market back in the day.

    ps: I now have reason to believe that the photos of Japan may be stock photos that Uncle Elstner purchased and pasted into his album. There may be some exceptions: the images of his sister, Miriam, and photos of logging operations in the Phillippines.
