Description
English: Garidah used for roofing the mud houses (Galus) in Dar al-Manasir, Northern Sudan.
  • Garidah (جريدة) — the midrib part of the palm leaf. In order to be used as a raw material the Garidah is stripped of its leaflets and spikes and its broad petiole is removed. Garidat are an esteemed raw material of the Manasir people.
