"The 60-hp engine is from a 1937 Ford," the owner told me at the Masonic show in Lucasville, Ohio. The original Ford 8N tractor had a 4-cylinder engine and was made from 1947 to 1952. In 1937 Ford offered an under-powered 60-hpV8 as an alternative to their full-power 85-hp standard model. (I almost bought a 1937 60-hp Ford in 1942, but bought a Model A instead.) This is a fine restoraton and it was a pleasure to see the historic tractor and engine preserved. |
