Description

Egyptian representation of Darius the great as a pharaoh. Egyptia has several time been subjected to the Persian empire, the XXVIIth dynasty of pharaoh was the first Persian one. Darius’s most famous statue found in Susa, has been manufactured in Egyptia before being exported to Susa, here this other stunning artefact shows an unusual picture of the king of kings. Taken at the British museum, London, United kingdom, December 2009.
