Object history
Deutsch: Das Wappen geht auf den kurfürstlichen Rat Eustachius von Schlieben zurück, der im 16. Jahrhundert Besitzer von Vetschau war. Es ist eine Kombination der Familienwappen der Herren von Schlieben, das ein Schachbrettmuster zeigt, mit dem Wappen der Herren von Schapelow, auf dem ein Windhund auf rotem Grund dargestellt ist. Auf dem ursprünglich genehmigten Wappen waren die beiden Felder spiegelverkehrt dargestellt.
