Bookbinder's burnisher. Wooden handled tool with brass head and agate stone tip. This tool would have been used by the book finisher to create a shiny finish on leather binding for books. Accession Number: 3625.1.72 Edinburgh City of Print is a joint project between the City of Edinburgh Museums and the Scottish Archive of Print and Publishing History Records (SAPPHIRE). The project aims to catalogue and make accessible the wealth of printing collections held by the City of Edinburgh Museums.
