Summary
[edit]DescriptionBolden inspecting Cygnus.JPG |
English: NASA Administrator Charles Bolden receives an update on the development status of Orbital Sciences Corporation’s Cygnus cargo carrier May 17 at the Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia. Cygnus will be used to carry supplies to the International Space Station under NASA’s Cargo Resupply Services contract with Orbital. The first demonstration flight of the Cygnus is scheduled for the fourth quarter this year aboard Orbital’s Antares launch vehicle.
In addition to the discussion on the Cygnus pressurized cargo module, Frank Culbertson, former astronaut and Orbital’s senior vice president for Human Spaceflight Systems, discussed the development of the Antares vehicle and the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport’s Pad 0A from which the vehicle will be launched. |
