4:3 and 16:9 are not commonly used in cinemas, but I included them for reference.

• 4:3 (1,33:1) - This is what film is shot on, before cropped or masked or unsqueezed. TV monitors and computer screen used to have this aspect ratio.
• 1.66:1 - standard flat widescreen format in some European countries.
• 1.75:1 - standard flat widescreen format in some other European countries.
• 1.85:1 - SMPTE standard flat widescreen format.
• 16:9 (1.77:1) - home media widescreen.
• 2:1 (Univisium) - proposed universal format for theatre and television; often used for content produced for streaming services.
• 2.39:1 ("Scope") - SMPTE standard anamorphic 35 mm (widescreen) format, sometimes called Scope, or incorrectly either CinemaScope or 2.35, by professionals.

The photo is shot on a phone camera, and has a 4:3 aspect ratio. Everything outside the 4:3 area I copy and pasted there with Photoshop (and added a slight radial blur).

I primarily made this because I couldn't find any images comparing 1.77:1 with other formats, let alone a free to use image.
