Description

Chantre du printemps, le Pouillot fitis symbolise le retour des beaux jours, synchronisant son arrivée avec l’éclatement des chatons de saules. Bien qu’il soit l’oiseau le plus abondant en Scandinavie, il se fait de plus en plus rare à la limite méridionale de son aire de nidification comme en Suisse, où il est surtout confiné aux forêts alluviales, aux marais et aux tourbières. C’est un champion des migrations, les populations boréales devant effectuer un trajet d’au moins 12'000 km pour atteindre leurs quartiers d’hiver subsahariens, performance admirable pour un oiseau d’à peine dix grammes!
