建物、広告、車、そして人々で混沌としているのになぜか統一感のあるニューヨークの夜。 学校で習ったアメリカ社会を形容する「人種のるつぼ」と「人種のサラダボール」という言葉は全く違う意味だという事をさっき知りました。 人種のるつぼ 多民族国家アメリカを象徴する言葉として有名で…多文化主義社会のうち、それぞれの文化が互いに混じり合って同化し、結果として一つの独特な共通文化を形成していく社会を指す。 人種のサラダボール ニューヨークの実態は多文化主義であっても、それぞれの文化が共存してはいるものの混じり合うことはない分離社会（セグレゲーション）である。 ともにWikipediaの人種のるつぼの項より 多くの要素を溶かして単一のものにする「るつぼ」と、要素が個性を発揮してまとまっている「サラダ」との事です。English: Intersection of 7th Avenue and 42nd Street, NYC. |
