Français : "Ce sont des archives familiales. Hippolyte Hodeau, mon arrière-grand-père, a servi en Argonne. Il était au 94ème régiment d’infanterie à Bar-le-Duc, 10ème compagnie, 4ème section. Il a fait les tranchées et a été gazé. Suite à un bruit sourd d’obus tombé juste à côté du soldat Hippolyte Hodeau, il fut blessé à l'oreille. Pendant les longues heures d’attente dans les tranchées mon arrière-grand-père a gravé sur des feuilles de châtaignier le prénom de ses filles: Andrée et Eléonore, ainsi que : souvenir et Argonne. Il était instructeur de la classe 1917. La petite fille de mon arrière-grand-père m’a donné ces feuilles en souvenir."
