The artwork of HR Giger is neither free licensed nor public domain. AshFriday (talk) 03:19, 4 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The actual nonfree elements seem like they could be edited out without losing value. The COM:EDUSE at en:UDE does not relate to them, but instead to illstrate a desktop environment screen. But it would be even better to have a screenshot that was completely free in all elements (if this is deemed nonfree here, it would also fail fair-use on en.wp). User:Beyond My Ken asserts (via edit-summaries on en.wp) it is de minimis. DMacks (talk) 04:39, 9 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Keep Indeed I do. The Giger material is quite clearly de minimus, as it is not the focus of the image. Beyond My Ken (talk) 05:11, 9 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Also to note that the nominating editor has appointed himself an "image cop" who is going to clean up copyvios and "smut". Thus, there is reason to doubt that his judgment is unbiased, since he is actively searching to find copyright violations and "smut", and is therefore likely to see it where it does not exist.  Deleted, HR Giger is not free and his art is here not de minimis. The file can be undeleted after copyright expiring in 2085 (70 1 years from death). Taivo (talk) 18:31, 18 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
