Photo taken from "marketing materials", assume copyrighted unless there is evidence otherwise. Ruff tuff cream puff (talk) 16:32, 27 July 2021 (UTC)
This is my PHOTOGRAPH of the vintage marketing materials I personally own. Not the actual photograph reproduced from the marketing materials or anything found online hence I stated own work as I took this photo. I took this picture with my own camera to educate. No different then taking a photo of my original Robert Blue artwork on my wall for education purposes or to resell. There are NO photographs of Robert Blue anywhere and I believe it is imperative to differentiate his likeness with other politician of same name and to help his new and long time collectors. I highly doubt his widow Linda Blue would mind the photo of her ex-husband that he used for himself proudly would have issue as it helps his memory but again this is my photo of my own personal collection. One of the galleries he was showcased his work and marketing materials after his death and it was also permitted by Linda. Again this exact image is from my camera and is simply a photo of the marketing materials and I am showing the materials he used.
He has no heirs and the original copyright belonged to Robert. — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.82.98.74 (talk) 08:06, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
- The rights to the photograph remain with the photographer or the copyright holder of the "marketing materials." You cannot assume the rights to a photograph by taking a picture of it. (You also cannot assume the rights to his artwork by taking a picture of it.) The rights of the photograph do not belong to the subject of the photograph or his widow either, unless there is documentation that they are the copyright holders.
