FoP in Indonesia prohibits commercial use. (mosque est. 1999) Canopus Grandiflora 04:22, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Keep the mosque was built in 1978, the 1999 renovation only cleaning the marble wall and repainting some part, it did not alter the mosque design.Gunkarta (talk) 15:04, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Comment it is indeed 1978. 39 years since it was opened. So, it did not enter public domain. --Canopus Grandiflora 15:17, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
In Indonesia, monuments and landmarks in public spaces are owned by the government. The state shall hold the copyright for works of popular culture that are commonly owned (public domain). Istiqlal mosque is considered as one of landmark or monument, therefore, not a copyright or FoP infringement, thus public domain. -Gunkarta (talk) 15:21, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
That is contradictory to their FoP rules since all of the buildings can be called as a landmark.--Canopus Grandiflora 19:45, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Do more study on the term "landmark" and "monument". Not all buildings can be called landmark. Plus Istiqlal mosque is owned by Indonesian government, not owned by private companies (for example sky scrappers owned by certain company), thus can be called landmark and monument, therefore, public domain in Indonesian law. -Gunkarta (talk) 23:39, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Keep Renovations that merely repair damage or restore an original condition don't violate copyright; they may require a high degree of skill & craft but are not original or creative works here. --Leoboudv (talk) 05:26, 18 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted: The mosque was finished in 1978. Indonesian law is 50 years PMA The architect, Frederich Silaban, died in 1984, so his copyright will last until 1/1/2035. .     Jim . . . (Jameslwoodward) (talk to me) 10:18, 21 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
